18-Year-Old Allgaier Set to Attempt
First NCTS Event at Home Track
SPRINGFIELD, IL (April 27, 2005) – Justin
Allgaier will lead the new generation of “young
guns” into the 1.25-mile Gateway International
Raceway for this weekend’s NASCAR Craftsman
Truck Series event as the 18-year-old Riverton,
IL, native will be the youngest competitor to
attempt the “Ram Tough 200”.
Allgaier has only turned testing laps and one
qualifying run for NASCAR approval to compete
at Gateway Int’l Raceway in the #63 Mittler
Bros. Machine & Tool/Dave Porter Truck Sales/LubriLoy
Ford F-150. The team, which unites a young driver
with a lot of potential and proven talent from
Illinois and the Missouri-based team owner who
introduced NASCAR to names such as Kenny Irwin,
Tony Roper, Jamie McMurray and Carl Edwards, demands
attention. Justin Allgaier and Mike Mittler –
a formidable pair ready to compete at their home
track.
“I’m really excited to race at Gateway,”
said Allgaier from his Springfield, IL, race shop.
“I had a great time during our first ARCA
race last year until we lost a cylinder while
running in the top-10. We had a productive test
with the MB Motorsports team earlier this month
so we are hoping for a solid qualifying effort
and strong run at home. Gateway is important both
for Mike Mittler and myself because it is the
home track for both of us. There would be nothing
better than making my first NASCAR Craftsman Truck
Series start at home so family and friends who
have supported me for years will all be there
to share the moment. It will be a tough field
to make but we are going to give it all we have
and a little more.”
Following this weekend’s “Ram Tough
200” NCTS event, Allgaier will prepare for
the ARCA RE/MAX Series’ “Hantz Group
200” which will take place at Toledo Speedway
on May 22, 2005. Allgaier was prepared to start
last weekend’s “Kentuckiana Ford Dealers
200” event at Salem Speedway from the 7th
place starting berth but an engine malfunction
in final practice postponed the self-funded team’s
first start of the season. More information on
Justin Allgaier and his upcoming schedule is available
online at www.allgaiermotorsports.com or on the
team’s new online media center at www.JAMpresskit.com.
The “Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers Ram
Tough 200” will commence at 7:15 p.m. CT
on Saturday, April 30, 2005, and broadcast on
the SPEED Channel or MRN radio live from Gateway
International Raceway in Madison, IL.
