Justin Allgaier, No. 63: Milwaukee
Preview
Justin Allgaier is still searching for his elusive
first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start. In
spite of two thwarted attempts, the 19-year-old
dirt and pavement hot-shoe, remains optimistic
for this Friday's “Toyota Tundra Milwaukee
200”.
In January, racing pioneer and NCTS team owner,
Michael Mittler, tapped Allgaier to pilot his
#63 Mittler Bros. Tools/Dave Porter Truck Sales/LubriLoy
Ford for a limited 2005 schedule. While Justin
has never been behind the wheel of a truck at
Milwaukee, he hopes to carry some momentum from
his ARCA RE/MAX Series debut there earlier this
month. Justin qualified 7th and finished an impressive
6th place after recovering from a late-race pit
stop in the “ARCA RE/MAX 150”. He
also led the 2nd most laps of the event - edged
out only by Frank Kimmel.
“This entire season is a learning experience,”
commented Allgaier when asked about his outlook
for Milwaukee. “I'm thankful to have the
opportunity to do this and to work with someone
such as Mike [Mittler] who has worked with some
of the best talent to go through the ranks. We
have been down on power and had a few other hiccups
but everyone is giving their best effort and the
team has been very supportive and patient with
me during this transition. I hope to do my best
at Milwaukee, just as I do for every race, and
hopefully it will be enough. I learned at the
ARCA event that it is definitely a driver's track
and requires patience because of the flat racing
surface. I'm looking forward to the time when
everything comes together and we can showcase
what we have to offer.”
Qualifying will take place on Friday, June 24,
2005, at 7:30 p.m. CDT while the green flag for
the “Toyota Tundra Milwaukee 200”
will drop at 8:15 p.m. CDT. The race will air
live on SPEED and MRN Radio. More information
